Bringing others to Love God, Love Others, and Serve Both

Within the mission contains three small phrases: Love God, Love Others, Serve Both. Each phrase is a step in true discipleship. First, we see the phrase, “Love God”. The Lord Jesus told us to love the Lord God with all our heart….this is the first great commandment. We express our love for God through worship service. You cannot worship God correctly until you have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. Second, we see the phrase, “Love Others”. Jesus taught the second commandment is like unto the first; that is we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. We learn to love others as we get to know them. We take this second step by being involved with a life group, bible study, or Sunday School area so we can get connected. Thirdly, we see the phrase, “Serve Both”. We cannot serve God and others until we love God and others. Jesus taught that we should serve each other as He has served us. He told us He has given us an example to follow. Once we get involved in all three phases of discipleship we become a disciple that lights and salts our community.
Loving God through Worship
Matthew 22:37-38 – “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.”
God loves all people and desires fellowship with them. Our worship services are an opportunity to assemble together to worship and show love towards God.
Loving Others through Small Groups
Matthew 22:39 – “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” This is where we connect with one another and learn how to love each other. People have needs that must be met, concerns that need to be heard and compassion that needs to be shown. Small Groups are our way of ministering in these areas.
Serving Both through Ministries
Galatians 5:13 – “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty . . . by love serve one another.”Serving God is best seen in how we serve others. Our desire is to meet the needs of people through our ministries.
